SingleThread - Hokkaido Theme

Great food and in good quantity. Definetly left super full. Not super different from other 3 Michelin Star places (my basis of comparison being Alinea in Chicago). I have a suspcion that all 3 star restaurants are reasonably similar. I really liked it and would definetly recommend. The experience was long so don’t show up late.

The bathroom was pretty cool.

They charge for tea, which is pretty strange. I feel like if its gonna be an Asian homage thing tea should be complimentary. The place was pretty expensive compared to my only other point of reference (Alinea).

Reservation bookings seem reasonably hard to get? I think I got lucky and picked a slot on the week I visted but I doubt it’ll be that easy next time.

Personal notes

I was originally trying to book French Laundry but those reservations evaporated in about a minute after opening. I hesitated on clicking. Don’t do that. If I end up getting the Amex Plat Card I’ll see if its any easier using their concierge service because this is ridiculous.

Also arrive at these places a little earlier so you can get all the bathroom needs and outfit changes out of the way.

Also make a checklist if I ever put on fancy clothes. I forgot my collar stays, my velvet slippers, and perfume on the way out. Put on the lapel pins before stowing the jacket in the bag; they’re hard to put on without a mirror.
